Providing strategic advice, funding support and technical know-how to NGOs and community organisations who are wanting to enhance growth, increase funding or gain operational mobility. I can support you with funding acquisition (from small grants to multi-level funding applications and Government (GET) Tenders), collaborative partnerships, government contracts, tenders, and programme development.

I also facilitate strategic planning and professional mentorship to new NGO leaders and staff navigating complexities of funding.

I am a strong community navigator, coordinator and change-maker and a recently qualified SVI Level one Social Value Practitioner – Social Value International

Practical funding and strategic advisory support for community organisations with a strong focus on social value, outcomes, and funder alignment.

I am an experienced freelance consultant supporting community organisations, trusts, and social purpose initiatives with short funding applications, targeted strategic advice, and social value–focused positioning. Since 2022, I have worked alongside a wide range of organisations including Youth Encounter, Hanmer Clinic, Sports Implementation Foundation, Growth Development, Ngapeke Permaculture, Free Public Advocacy Services Trust, Colville Community Health Trust, Pearanui Trust, Strength HQ, David Liti, StandTall Community Trust, Families Achieving Balance, and Te Tuinga Whānau Trust.

My work is grounded in a strong understanding of how funding decisions are actually made, shaped by experience across both the community and government sectors. I spent six years in leadership roles at the Ministry of Social Development, including serving as Private Secretary to Ministers, with a focus on policy, social services, and employment initiatives. This provided deep insight into government priorities, accountability requirements, and what funders look for when assessing value and impact.

In 2020, I led funding negotiations and accreditation processes for the Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust and later contributed to regional growth as Programme Manager – Regional Economic Development at Bay of Plenty Regional Council. These roles strengthened my ability to bridge strategy, delivery, and funding — particularly for organisations navigating growth, compliance, or change.

I am a certified Social Value International (SVI) Social Value Practitioner, reflecting the growing shift by funders toward demonstrating outcomes, impact, and value for communities rather than activity alone. Increasingly, community funding is being targeted toward organisations that can clearly articulate who benefits, how change happens, and why it matters — and I support organisations to do this in a proportionate, practical way.

Alongside my consultancy work, I currently serve as a Bay of Plenty Representative on the Benefit Review Committee and am a Trustee of Hanmer Clinic Tauranga, maintaining close connection to governance, accountability, and frontline community realities.

I work best with organisations seeking focused, time-bound support — whether that is strengthening a funding application, sense-checking strategy, clarifying impact narratives, or providing trusted advisory input at key decision points. My approach is collaborative, pragmatic, and grounded in systems thinking, always with the aim of strengthening outcomes for communities.
